As a Board Member of SCIC I did outreach, fundraising, and hosted on-line education programming on issues including Unitarian Universalism, and Paganism.

“UU Mass Action” is a legislative and political action voice for Unitarian Universalists across Massachusetts. While serving on the UUMA Board, I spoke publically, hosted events, and led fundraising campaigns.

Unitarian Universalists for a Just Economic Community UUJEC (2000-2004)

For four years, I sat on the board of the UUJEC, and for two years served as its Board Chair. In my role on the Board and as its Co-chair I was a leader in designing justice programs designed to engage UU’s in the fight to build a more equitable tax base, and all the fights that work to build a as our groups title suggests, A Just Economic Community.


Student Minister and Lay Leader for First Parish Lincoln MA (1997-98)

In the last few active years of my time at BU, I was a Part Time Field Ed Intern at the First Parish in Lincoln. In that role, I preached, sat on the Social Action Committee, and taught a unit of 7th grade RE. In the year, and years following my time as an Intern, I taught the Adult Education Course “Owning Your Religious Past/The Haunting Church,” facilitated the 7th and 8th grade Sunday morning program “The Breakfast Club,” led the “Neighboring Faiths” curricula for 6th graders, and Ran the Youth Group for 2 years. It was in Lincoln that I had my most intense children’s RE experience.


First Parish Church of Lexington, MA (Lay Leader 1996-97)

At the First Parish Church, between the spring of 1996 and the spring of 1997, I regularly participated in the life of the church as an informal lay-leader. In 1996, I was the Co-Instructor of “Our Common Heritage” workshop and served on the Search Committee for the Religious Education Director. In 1997, I was a member of the Church Canvass committee, performed two summer services, and was a delegate to General Assembly. As a member of First Parish’s Social Concerns Committee in1997, I was a bi-weekly volunteer representing First Parish at the Boston based UU Urban Ministries “On Trac Program,” As a liaison from the church I was an active part of the after-school program and member of the Committee that raised five thousand dollars.


UU International Activity and Connections (1997, 2006, and 2009)

When I was a Divinity School Student I spent the summer of 1997 visiting Unitarians in the Khasi-Hills of India, Poland, and the Czech Republic. During that trip, in India I was invited to be the keynote speaker at the Silver Anniversary of one of the Khasi Hills Unitarian churches.

In the summer of 2006 I served as the Ministerial Chaplain on a Project Harvest Hope Pilgrimage to visit Unitarians in Hungary and the Transylvania region in present day Romania.

As mentioned elsewhere, from January through June of 2009, I served as the first visiting minister of the family sized “Spirit of Life” fellowship in Sydney Australia.
